The Gantt Bar Chart Challenge

In the early 1970s the Data Processing Manager of a local tobacco company challenged me to create Gantt charts using IBM's Report Program Generator II, a.k.a. RPG II. Since I cannot resist such a challenge, we wagered two bottles of Chivas Regal Scotch whisky which I won and enjoyed with friends

Now when I get stuck for progrmming ideas I visit the Australian SitePoint Forums. Before asking questions I like to field a few answers myself. On my last visit a fellow was asking about creating Gantt charts with php and I put together a small tutorial that you might enjoy.
