January 25, 2003 Electronic Attack Slows InternetWASHINGTON (AP) -- Traffic on the many parts of the Internet slowed dramatically for hours early Saturday, the apparent effects of a fast-spreading, virus-like infection that overwhelmed the world's digital pipelines and interfered with Web browsing and delivery of e-mail. The Software Times servers were out for several hours. The attackers were exploiting a security weakness in MS SQL 2000. If a woman can get millions for being stupid enough to spill hot coffee on herself, how much in damages could one collect for sloppy M$ programming?
